Metamorphosis

Gregor, a weary and disillusioned salesman, woke one morning to an unsettling sensation coursing through his body. As he tried to shake off the remnants of sleep, he became acutely aware of an alien heaviness weighing him down. Confused and alarmed, he glanced at his transforming reflection in the mirror. To his horror, he realized that he had morphed into a grotesque insect-like creature, his human form replaced by an exoskeleton, spindly legs, and ghastly appendages.

But even more distressing was the realization that his loved ones—his family and close friends—could scarcely bear to look at him. They recoiled in fear and disgust, casting horrified glances at the creature he had become. The same people he had cherished and cared for now perceived him as a repugnant intruder in their lives. Their once familiar faces were now shadowed by their repulsion, their love replaced with dread.

In a heart-wrenching twist, the struggle became not just about Gregor’s acceptance of his physical form, but a painful reflection on the nature of love, connection, and what it truly means to be a monster.
